Hi, I don't want to derail your thread, but I'll offer this experience with salt water. Several years ago, I carefully visualized my path across a number of dry looking rocks in Hawaii. Unfortunately the last rock proved to be wet, so... If you are ever near Haena Beach, Kaua'i, you might find a D80, 16-85, 70-180 micro Nikkor and an SB-700 somewhere in the surf. I didn't know at the time, but the lenses might well have been salvageable if I had kept them in fresh water until they could be serviced.
