Hi, I ran an ad on Craigslist to sell my Nikkor 105mm DC lens. Met the guy at McDonalds and let him try it out on my D800e. He paid me in cash and mounted it on his (I forget his full-frame model) while it was turned on and I said to him he wasn't supposed to do that. He said he'd done it a thousand times and never had a problem. He got Err on his LCD even after dismounting the lens, turning everything off, etc. We tried it on mine and got Err on it, too. He wanted his money back. I said no because his camera manual says never do that and he chose to ignore that warning. He insisted and so did I. I left McDonalds and he followed me out the door expressing his anger and demands. I got a subsequent call from the police; but, that is another story. Nothing came of it. I will admit that I had also forgetfully mounted it, myself, without incident maybe twice while I had it but no Err. For More Details Brand Communication Examples
